Well it’s not the instant but not the steel cut oatmeal either but the rest is put together by hand and not a season packet.. Punkyroo loves this for breakfast and I think I’ll be making this while on vacation for a nice warm wake up meal.
Cinamon Apple Oatmeal
- 1 medium apple, chopped in small bites size (leave peel)
- 1 tbs cinamon ( this may be too much for some in one serving)
- 1 1/2 cups Old Fashion Oatmeal
- 1 1/2 cups Silk/Almond/Rice milk
In a microwave safe bowl ( I like things quick but if you prefer to do this on the stove then just adjust the time to the stove time) combine the oatmeal, cinamon, apples and mix well. Pour in the “milk”, it should be just slightly covering the oatmeal, and mix. Put in the microwave and cook the time directed on the box ( I usually just cook it in 1 minuted intervals until It’s to my desired tenderness and also to prevent boil overflow).
Take out of the mircowave and stir, most of the liquid should be absorbed. Add just enough milk to slightly cover oatmeal and mix again, this helps it cool down faster and not make the oatmeal as sticky in your mouth!
