Two weeks left until we have our meeting with the commisioners! This is our final meeting and it’s open to the public, so that means we need your support! If you have not signed the petition please do, if you want to go a step further…show up to the meeting! This is a peacful meeting, no rallies, screaming etc. We want to achieve a full house of supportive brevard residents.

The meeting will be held in the Board Room, Brevard County Gov’t Center at 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera. It is bldg. C, the only three story bldg. on the first floor.  The meeting begins at 9 am however new business is held towards the end of the meeting and the agenda hasn’t been developed yet. We might be heard in the morning if the agenda is short and we may not.

We are so close now to making a better future for these poor animals that are dumped in the pound, please help us seal the deal…sign the petition, spread the word, come to the meeting, let everyone know about the meeting.

Also visit our website and learn how you can join the coalition and help more.

No-Kill Animal Shelters for Brevard!! October 15, 2008

I am with a group that has been working towards getting all Brevard County Animal shelters to go No-Kill. Last year in the 2 County’s shelters over 10,000 animals were destroyed and for something that’s not their fault. These animals give love and loyalty and then get dumped off. We a finalizing the proposal to give to the commisioners when we meet with them, but that will be done shortly.  If you can please sign our petition and pass it along!

Our Coalition has it’s own site up and running now too!

Our head of our group is leaving for Nevada for the No More Homeless Pets convention that is a hard core 3 day event. My favorite No-Kill visionary Nathan Winograd will be there speaking as well!! I wish I could go but a 2 year old and a all day-3 day event isn’t the best fit, lol.

Also if you’d like to read a GREAT book about No-Kill animal shelters, the begining and how things have come to be and more read Redemption: The Myth Of Pet Over Population . I never buy books and this is the only one I have, I was too unpatient to wait 3 days for shipping since no book stores or libraries had it (Thanks to a few of us asking for the book to be held in the library they orded it! Yay). But this is a great book and you’ll be amazed at everything you read in it!

If you’d like to learn more about No-Kill shelters go to..
